I started birth control for the first time ever in my life four weeks ago. I requested the lowest dosage possible in order to stave off severe side effects, so my gynecologist prescribed me Yaz.

I did the "first day" start, in other words, I started my regimen the first day I got my period. I've been consistent with times (there was only one time I was 45 minutes late) and have never missed a pill.

After my period ended, I experienced breakthrough bleeding about a week later. It's been going on for at least a week and a half. It's probably not a proper "period" (not true ovulation), however, the flow varies from being very light to noticeably heavier.

I understand that one of the side effects is breakthrough bleeding, but is the length and amount I described normal for first-time birth control/Yaz users? Is it possible that this birth control is not for me? One of my friends remarked that the micrograms per dosage has to do with weight, size, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, it's possible that the dosage of the medication when it comes to amount of estrogen in it could be too low for your body to handle.

I did the sister product Yasmin and after having a hard time adjusting to it the first week and settling down for a while I ended up having issues with breakthrough bleeding 6 months after starting on the Yasmin.

I had to change brands of birth control pills. I would recommend getting back in touch with your doctor to see what they say.

ok I even have had many miscarriages and the staple products are this.. No bleeding is superb for the period of being pregnant, it is going to constantly, constantly get appeared at.. yet Brownish streaky recognizing isn't normally too a great number of a situation. sparkling pink blood, increasing in circulate, probably clotty and with vast soreness (like the worst era soreness ever!) could be a miscarriage. something lighter could be a implantation bleed or now and lower back human beings bleed after intercourse or straining. look ahead to the nurse to call and if in any extra doubt pop down on your early being pregnant unit on the interior reach medical institution and ask for a test for reassurance. those are normally first come first served and could be very frightening at the same time as waiting, yet would be rather genuinely worth the look ahead to the peace of mind. stable luck and that i desire all is genuinely.
