youll be able to get in no matter who yo are with. I worked at a theatre and no one ever cared about checking ID. So especially if you are with someone older, no one will care. Plus, when we would check the theatres for people who sneak in, we wouldnt want to deal with them even if they did, so youll be safe nmw.

Rated R or Rated 18A
Rated R movies generally don't allow to be seen by minors. THe exception to this rule was Mel Gibson's Passion of the Christ.
R stands for restricted so its restricted to everyone except for those of the legal age.
Rated 18A on the other hand means that the movie can be seen by someone between the ages of 14-17 but with a legal guardian of 18 years.
Personally, if they don't let you go just sneak in. It's as simple as that. Movie theatres don't put security up just so they can block minors from getting in. They just really don't care at all.
Hoped I helped.
Note to Noel S. The guy who rips the tickets does ID you. It happend to me a while ago. You could be right. But in Famous Players they don't.

You can get into a R rated movie as long as you are accompanied by an adult. NC-17 means you have to be 18 or older (No Children under 17) R just means restricted audiences no age limit as long as one person is over 18. That's how it's always been done here anyway.

you can't unless he goes up there and buys the ticket ahead of time for the both of you. Me and my friend do that all the time. Just get him to buy the tickets alone. Then let him hand the guy your ticket before you walk in. The guy who rips the tickets in half doesn't really care. It's the person who sells them that ID's you. So just let you boyfriend do the buying, you stay in the car. Hope that helps. It works for me!

unless you go with your parents, or legal guardian the theater management is not legally allowed to permit you. sadly, most theaters don't enforce this.
