I was walking to the mailbox the other day, and one of the maintenance men riding on a golfcart stopped me and asked me if I lived in "building 4". When I asked him why, he said, with a smile on his face, that he thought he saw me "over there", which makes me think he's a potential rapist trying to figure out where I live.

Speak to management about this. If he wanted to get to know you, he could have gone about it in many other ways other than just smiling when you ask why.

That would have given me a bad vibe also and if it happened to me I would meet him at the door with my pepper spray, gun, dog and husband.

Maybe since he's the maintenance man, he knows of something wrong/haywire with stuff in building 4, so if you lived there, he could give you a heads up as to what was wrong. You know, being nice?
Or even ask you if you are having problems with "this" b/c your neighboring tenants in bldg. 4 have complained about a certain maintanence problem and he was asking you to find out if you have the same problem.

Are you a single lady living alone? Then you should watch your back anyways. But don't go jumping to crazy Law&Order-like conclusions.

He probably was just trying to make conversation with you or perhaps he had done some work on building 4 and had or was going to do some work there. If you are attractive perhaps he was flirting a little but considering the millions of maintenance men in millions of apartment complexes in this nation alone, the odds are that he was only trying to be friendly.

I'd keep tabs on the ole boy, Not sure I would have said why, Chances are if he really wanted to know all he has to do is follow you. It's a place where he works and is around all day. I would also write down every odd thing that he does and also tell a few friends what's going on, get his name and what car he drives, you might even find out where he lives. Never ask anyone anything about him, if it gets back to him, he might think you're interested. Good Luck

I'd tell him that I don't give out my personal information, then I'd go STRAIGHT to the manager of the property and report this as making you uncomfortable....never know, if others have reported these kinds of things, it might help get him canned before he tries something.

wow. a little too much television if you ask me.

to indirectly accuse someone of being a rapist is a little too far.

it sounds like he was flirting with you and maybe have some type of interest in you.

girl, calm down and turn off the tv

not to say that these things don't happen, but he was just being nice. it is kind of funny when you see someone "over there" then see them again. it's just an akward coicidence. if he did rape you he would lose his job.

just make sure you don't tell him where you live, and keep your door locked (you should be doing those things anyway)

Did he send you some creepy wibes??

He might like you and was trying to make a conversation. If you don't like his attention and he keeps persisting, you should tell him that you don't like it. If he still doesn't stop, tell the management.
