Do you have to call from your work station? If so it sounds like your actual start work time is 7 AM and you would be late at 701.I've never had a job like this, but 60 seconds does seem pretty petty.

Does it really matter if any of us have? There is a reason for the 1-hour call-in. That it was 59 minutes and some seconds could very well be a matter of a clock being incorrect. The spirit of the policy was complied with.

If an employer wants to split hairs over several seconds difference, then they can certainly do so, but it shows that they're more concerned with blind policy than intelligent thought.

Company policy says you need to call out one hour before your shift starts and you missed that by 1 minute. You called out too late. 7:00:01 would be too late. There is no difference. Late is late.

It's one minute late... so yes. Many bosses/workplaces wouldn't care if it was just one minute though.

Maybe on your clock it was 7:00 =P

59 minutes is not one hour. Yes, it's late.
They 'look the other way" for one minute, then it's 5 minutes, then it's 15 minutes....Get the picture?
