I have a light bar, and set up, but I want to add the the light, I tried tapping the fuse, but it would never turn off. Any suggestions? By the way, it's a 99 Mercury Cougar, with a V6 2.5 Liter Eng. 24 Valves.

The fuse is before the control switch in the circuit, what you are probably gonna have to do is drop the upholstery on the roof to gain access to the wires that power the light you already have. Only splice into the power wire, and then ground your light bar to the frame or body. If you tap into the wires for a power and a ground, then you will have put the 2 load in series, and they will split the 12v source voltage. By grounding the light bar seperate, you will have put it in parallel, and they will both have 12v as a source voltage.

AS 68ER says you will have to connect to one of the lamps that have the delay system. It would be best to pick up the wire connections at an original interior lamp.
Be very careful that you make good clean tight connections. You do not want a short as this would burn out the delay relay.

Just tap into the wires from any of the other lights.
