My husband and I had the same dilemma. When we had our 3rd anniversary we took that weekend and rented a local cabin. It was about 25 miles away from our home so we were still close if anything happened to the baby. The cost for 2 nights was 300 and it was fully furnished so we just bought food that we usually wouldn't buy for the house and cooked there most of the time. We went to the local lodge/restaraunt one night and had dinner. We had a great time.

Contact your state's board of tourism. They all have nice books on tourism and sights in the state. Also contact nearby states. You should have no trouble picking a nice spot. We took our "honeymoon" long after we married also, and we had a ball, probably more fun than if we'd done it right after the marriage because all the "newlywed nervousness" was over. Good luck on your marriage and honeymoon.

Go to Mexico. The most you will pay for the plane tickets but you can find a cheap hotel and food is cheap there too! Great beaches though. Perfect for the honeymoon.
