R & J would wear the same costume they wear throughout the play, with the exception of the next am.
People then and now wear their finest to a wedding, thus the big business in Tux rentals and wedding gowns today.

In their case they wore their better daily clothes as to avoid anyone taking notice of them as they "eloped". If their wedding had been public and supported by their parents they would probably had new clothes tailored for the wedding, clothes that would probably have become their best "party" clothes for the next several years.
