White is the best. I think earlier this year, one of the TV stations actually did a test. They took two identical cars, one black and one white, and put digital thermometers in them. The difference was very small, like only 5 to 10 degrees, but the white one was cooler.
Also, putting those reflective sunshades in the windshield really helps.

I sold cars out here for two years. I am also originally from CT. Light or Dark, once it is over 100 deg outside the car will be hot. Darker colors, obviously absorb more heat and will be hotter to the touch. In fact a car in the summer can burn you, and leather seating can be torcher. It is very Important that you get your windows tinted, if they are not already. I know very few cars in CT have tinted windows, but it is a MUST out here. They even make tint that blocks heat 98% but it legal in darkness, it cost more but is way worth it ( it is called Huber-Optic tint..I know I mis splat that) Also it is a HUGE plus if your car has rear AC for your passengers, because it takes a lot longer for the car to cool down than in CT. Another important thing is to make sure you get a garage or car port where ever you go. Now as for fading,it's not a big problem for NEWER cars really, especially since the cars paint is coated from the factory with a paint protector that help prevent rust and sun damage. The one color that does seem to fade is actually Silver, I would be more concerned about the interior and dash fading. So invest in window tint, treat your dash board protectent, and use a sun screen when you can't park in covered parking. Best of Luck with the move!

Really any light color would be ideal, mainly because presentation is second to comfort here in AZ. Lighter color cars obviously do not take in as much heat and are better suited for the everyday Arizonan. If you get black, take it back.

My opinion, silver because of the dirt, but it doesn't really matter as long as you have good tinted windows. Stay away from leather seats. I have a yellow car with really dark tint, and it works just fine for me.

hi again, Mensch! Any light color will do- with white (unfortunately) being the best choice! I lived in Las vegas for 9 years and had a black car at the end- ouch!

NOT a dark color. any white, beige, or other light ones are fine. the lighter colors dont trap heat as much as darker ones do, so you will be as cool as possible in the sweltering heat.
