i've been thinking alot about what to get my friends and family for christmas and then i started thinking about the people who dont have anything. this year i want to do something like make a christmas gift basket. does anybody know any place where i can send it to or where to start?

local churches have gift trees usually where they have names and ages of families that are having a difficult time and could use certain things.you kind of sponsor the family for the holiday. YOu can also check your city hall for things to do or better yet your local red cross... there are so many people that would be greatful for your help. My church does a mitten scarf and hat tree and also a name tree that has a childs name and one present that they want ( always under $20)

What a lovely idea. You could check with churches or services in your local town and maybe get it to a homeless shelter or to a prison.
A good alternative is to give donations to charities that mean something to your family members. My extended family does this instead of giving everyone stuff they don't need. For example, I will donate to the Susan G Komen foundation for my aunt (a breast cancer survivor), a pet adoption service, and also to a local program that helps send needy kids to camp in the summer.

The Salvation Army, Food Bank, Church, Homeless Shelter are a few places that come to mind. More people should feel like you do and actually act on it.

Go to Samaritan Purse's website, they do shoeboxes for kids, also Prisonfellowship ministries does gifts for kids of parents in Prison, they have a website. God Bless YOU!!!
