Every time I try to turn my computer off, instead of turning off automatically, the following message comes up: " It is now safe to turn off your computer" and it keeps on until I manually press hold the power button...Is there any way to override this annoying step? Please

First off, what version of Windows do you have? The only version I know of that does that is 95 / 98 or ME. I've never personally seen that in XP, though I guess it could be possible, considering it is Microsoft.

Try this restart your PC in safe mode and then turn it off. Something on your computer might be stopping it or one of your programs is having trouble shutting down.
