They take money from the people who have the most of it, which is penalizing success. If you're a worthless loser who doesn't do anything with your life, you don't have to pay almost anything in taxes. And on top of that, liberals want to take money from the successful people even more than they already do. It shows a DEEP hatred for successful people because they know they can never be successful themselves. Sad

Why do Republicans keep calling for tax cuts when there is so much bad stuff going on in this country that needs to be fixed. It is like they think that money grows on trees.

Maybe they became too influenced by the Johnny Appleseed folklore stories and figure they would give it a try and grow money trees so that people like us wouldn't have to pay taxes anymore. If you are so against taxes. tell Bush to get our trooops out of Iraq. That is what is driving taxes up sky high

This morning, the Wall Street Journal Report aired an interview with Bush in which he said that we were on our way to a balanced budget. How is that possible? Is it a case of when we incur a debt that can't be paid off in our lifetimes that it just doesn't count as debt? Does balanced budget now mean that if we don't spend anymore on domestic service. Why is it that it's OK to spend trillions as long as taxes don't go up? Where does the money come from then to pay off the debt?

Amazing how the budget was in a surplus in 2000, a Republican Executive and Congress has spent us into trillions of debt and the bad guys are the ones who would dare say that something needs to be done about the debt. This brings to mind children who want more and more allowance with no concept that the money does not grow on trees. Grow up!!

You haven't thought your question through. There are plenty of successful dems out there. And if you are referring to the lower and middle class as worthless losers, then you have a big problem. They outnumber the upper class by a huge margin. Also keep in mind the Americans you are referring to: teachers, police, firefighters. Three of the many essential middle class professions. They should pay less in taxes than the rich.

At the end of the day, there will always be a lower class. There is no way around it. There must always be dishwashers, servers, gardeners. Why not take care of a class of people who do the jobs that your treasured upper class wouldn't do?

Its not that these Americans aren't doing anything with their lives. So when more funding is needed to take care of the needs of Americans, the people who can afford it should bear the biggest burden.

People will disagree with me. Welcome to democracy.

Wow...
1) Lowering taxes during war is one of the stupidest financial moves to make. They're spending billions for a war and lowering the amount of money they're getting? It's irresponsible, putting off the problem. The future generations are going to suffer for this.
2) The people liberals want to tax are the people who can afford it, and the amount they would be taking is so minimal it hardly matters. I think they can handle buying one less expensive luxury a month (at the worst possible result), whereas the poor people are working twice as much and getting none of that. What they do get they can't even spend. Grow up in a family that can't afford to buy brand-name food and nice clothes, or a family that doesn't get to celebrate Christmas every year and then tell me we should keep taxing everybody equally.
The problem with society is that everybody looks at things from their of view. Honestly, common sense would solve every problem if people could get out of their own mindest and look at things objectively.

In the real world somebody has to pay for the nine trillion dollar debt, most of it run up by the Reagan, Bush and Bush presidency's.

George W. has almost doubled the debt in seven short years. This is double the debt, more than all other presidents combined.

The National Debt has continued to increase an average of
$1.42 billion per day since September 29, 2006!

Try thinking of it this way, the rich are the ones that run America and own the business. The business are always raising prices so they can make more money. This kinda turns the hatred theory around. The rich are your leaders and they are the ones that raise the tax's, while the unfortunate have nothing to say about it.

They wouldn;'t have to raise taxes if everytime the Republicans get into office they spend every cent we have.. then leave the mess for someone else to clean up. Just how do you think we , as a country, are going to pay for Bush's little war... got a good answer or just silly questions?

Millionaires save most of their money anyway and that doesn't stimulate the economy. If you think about it most Americans will only make one million dollars their entire life so taxing millionaires disproportionately might not be such an issue.

Well ok then. You should be backing Ron Paul all the way. He wants to do away with the IRS. And why not...he Republicans clearly hate taxes...so why not...let's get rid of the IRS and be done with taxes.

Woohoo!!! To quote Mel Gibson "FREEDOM".

Sorta silly isn't it...

And this - I assume - is in contrast to those fiscally responsible Republicans who have never raised taxes???????

Takes revenue to run a country, bro.

And a war.
