Some people's bodies are stronger then others, but eventually, especially since he's getting old, it'll catch up to him.

Hes probably been doing this for a while, therefore, it has become a normality for his body. This doesnt mean that he doesnt need help, because he does. His liver and his lungs are probably wasting away, but his body has become immune to any symptoms of this. Find him help soon. Keep in mind though that someone addicted to these things cannot recieve help until they are ready to. it will most likely be especially hard for him since he is so used to it, and its not making him feel bad. he probably wont see a problem with it. give him time, let him know how you feel and how it is honestly affecting his body and his health. definitely find him help. good luck, and best wishes.

Does his skin or eyes have a yellowish hue? If so, he does have jaundice, and his liver is shutting down, which means it is not filtering out the poisen (alcohol) in his system. That is what happened to the lady I knew. He needs to get some help, before things get worse. If you don't want to lose him, then I would get him some help. Good luck to you! Hope it works out for you.

It's all genetics. Some people's bodies are naturally stronger than others. That doesn't mean however, that he won't get throat, stomach or lung cancer, or heart disease next year or soon after.
Keep living healthy. I don't think he's going to change.

He must have the constitution of an ox! Seriously though, sooner or later the punishment he is subjecting his body to will catch up with him, probably when he least expects it. If you care about him, try to encourage him to seek medical help, otherwise he won't make it to retirement.

He may look healthy but unless he is extremely unusual he is slowly killing himself.
