For horseback riding its more like
"I wanna be comfortable and warm"

Then everything else is basically
"I'm too tired to think about anything so I'm wearing a hood so that no one will talk to me RAWR"

My statement would be that I care about what I look like and that I care about myself. Making sure clothes have the right fit, clean, ironed and in proper repair if needed. I would never think of going to the store of any kind without looking presentable, having my makeup on and hair fixed. People do appreciate it when you always look presentable. That makes a statement in itself.

it all depends on your taste in style. people should wear what they want and feel good in it. in my clothes, i make a statement that says: " i don't care what you think, and i love my style so back off" i wear really trendy clothes, but i don't look like everyone else- that's just plain sad.
