I would suggest that you go to Wikipedia and research the following topics: stocks, corporation, stock market, mutual funds, bonds. Then come back here and ask any questions about areas that were confusing for you.

I use TD ameritrade.
It's very simple. Start a account, then put as much as you can it it. each trade will cost 9.99 to buy and 9.99 to sell.
Then pick your stock and you can buy them. after you buy then you can track your account by login in and it will tell you if it's up or down. I tricky part is which one to buy. Good luck
