The octane level of the lowest rated gasoline on the market is so much higher than the highest rated lighter fluid that to do such a thing would invite a major disaster --- in your hand !!
And, yes -- it would hurt the lighter
but, you really wouldn't care much
because where they would have you
they wouldn't allow you to smoke -- anyway !! ⺠< boom !!
⺠< its time for your next surgical procedure Mr Wes come out from under the bed !!!

Of course you can fill your lighter with gasoline or just about any other liquid. Is a lighter filled with gasoline dangerous? You bet. Why would you even want to consider using gasoline?

if you want to at best wreck you zippo and at worst hurt yourself, go ahead. Gasoline is not used because it is too volitile and flammable for use as lighter fluid. Use lighter fluid like you are supposed to.

It's dangerous, it could explode. When you light it, you will always get a huge flame. Gasoline evaporates too fast, you will always be refilling it. It stinks too. You will always have gasoline smell in your pocket and on your hand.

And if you don't burn yourself up you will end up with a big red raw patch on your leg where the lighter leaked.

"Unleded" gasoline? I think you'll have more incendiary results if you use rocket fuel.
Better yet, see if you can't get some fissile material, like enriched uranium. Your local Terror-R-Us store should have plenty.
