condemning a genocide but think its an urgent matter for congress to condemn the free speech of a paid newspaper advertisement?

Could it be hypocrisy or just a hatred for the constitution?

The Republican resolution against the MoveOn ad has sparked a push back from the Democrats. Speaker Pelosi says she has a new resolution every week for them. The way I figure it, this is fodder for the Democrat's election ads. "Republican John Smith refused to condemn genocide, Vote for Democrat Jack Jones!" So the Republicans rightfully hate these resolutions, and yes, some of them catch the hypocrites in a bind.

someguy: This Congress has been in session for 9 months, not 2 years, and they've passed quite a few bills despite Republican obstructionism.

As a republican, I wish the congress were waisting its time - instead of initiating dangerous and short sighted resolutions.

Think about it: Non-binding resolutions which favor the terrorists' objectives, a set timetable for withdrawal or, worse, immediate withdrawal, attaching ridiculous spending bills to the troop funding, pushing through legislation that only serves to undermine our allies in the Middle East and possibly cut off our supply routes for the troops in Iraq, publicly stating that we have lost the war when our troops are still on the front lines and in harms way - and a host of other nonsense instead of addressing the real concerns that presently face our nation - you know, like perhaps realizing that the fanatical Islamic terrorists are a real threat to all civilized nations.
I am proud that the United States and her true allies have finally confronted this ideology of hatred and domination rather than let it continue to fester and grow while slaughtering thousands of innocent victims with pretty much impunity.
I am not "pro-war" - but neither am I "anti-war" regardless of the provocation or possible consequences.
Most reasonable people want peace - but not at any price.

Condemning an ethnic genocide by a nation that no longer exists is a waste of time.

The Democrats should be condemning the political acts of a group that does currently exist in the United States. A group that:

Politically supported slavery of African Americans in the United States.
Controlled the government of New York city before, during and after the US Civil War and attempted to get the State of New York to secede from the United States and join the Confederacy.
A group that organized riots in the streets of New York city during the US Civil War where blacks were lynched from street lamps.
Vetoed the first Civil Rights Act.
Called President Lincoln a liar and accused him of starting an illegal war.
Opposed subsequent Civil Rights Acts.
Has selected candidates for political office at KKK meetings.
Formed the “Commie Blacklisting Committee”, the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) of which Senator McCarthy was not a member.
Imprisoned Japanese Americans for Ethnic Reasons.
Dropped a nuclear weapon on an ethnic group which many in the world have said is also ethnic genocide.
A majority of whom opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Currently use nearly verbatim the same rhetoric against Iraq that was they used against the US Civil War.

Democrats should vote on a resolution condemning themselves for their ethnic atrocities and then disband in shame.

Well because the advertisment by moveon.org was incredibly stupid and called a general a traitor.AKA:THEY ARE LYING!!!!!!
But.calling the genocide of Armenians a genocide will pissoff Turkey and then Turkey might deny us roads to Iraq,or even worse they might kill the Kurds in Northern Iraq.
