People say that if you wanna look smart, get glasses! Non-prescription ones with thin rims. BUT. If I do get glasses, and people ask if I need them for reading (or need them at all), what should I say? Any other (cheap) glasses like pics or stores, please include!

Say that you don't need them. Don't lie just because you don't want ppl to know you don't need them.
If you want them to look smart, tell them that.
If you want them to look classy, tell them that.
If you want them to look cool, tell them that. and on and on.
If you don't want to tell them, no one is going to force you to do it.
Follow your heart. Go ahead and get them.

Say that you don't need them. If you want them for fashion, get them for fashion. But don't go around lying about it.
And why would you go looking for glasses for fashion, and want to go cheap? They're basically jewelry to you, get something worth having.
As someone that needs glasses, I've come to realize that you get what you pay for. Drop $50 on frames and they last a year, maybe 2. Drop $250 on frames and they last much longer, are more confortable, and look better.

If you want glasses just for effect, then you won't need prescription lenses in them. The only glasses like that are sunglasses. BUT you could get a pair of sunglasses with Reactolite glass, that stay clear indoors and only darken in sunlight. Get the lightest pair of these you can find and you're sorted.

Just tell them that you like the look [of glasses]! And then they won't "argue" with you because then they'll know that you like it and that's that! Claie's [accessories] or Icing usually has some!
