If Gerry and Kate's main aim here is to be cleared of suspicion, even if it means having Madeleine turn up dead, then it says it all about these 2. Its about them first, Madeleine a distant second.

Maybe it`s not the best choice of words to have used, but I reckon these two have accepted her death as most likely , and would prefer to find a body and have some closure to the whole story. I don`t mean that to sound clinical ,but not knowing must be the worst possible scenario.

If a body was ever found it could yeild clues as to what really happened and put an end to all this theorising and speculation.

Their suffering is compounded by suspicion and smear.

I read the article and this statement was not made by either Gerry or Kate.

I find it amazing that Team McCann has not issued a gag order to all family and friends with regards to this case.

Knowing what we know about the efficiency of the British media, I doubt that the unnamed source said such a thing or if such a source does exist, I would not be surprised if the quote was taken out of context and/or repeated erroneously.

I have very little faith in the accuracy of reports from the British media.

Anyways, firstly, since this has been expressed by FRIENDS of Gerry & Kate & not themselves, its not a bit fair to slate them for it.

Secondly, a question for you?
What is the worst nightmare for any parent?
Think about it..................................
Its knowing that your precious child is in pain, being hurt & not being able to do a single thing about it.
THATS what Gerry & Kate suffer every single second.
Given the time that has passed, i'm honest enough to believe that deep down they must hope now she is no more... however painful that itself must be for them. Don't you get it??? They don't want her to hurt. If shes no more, at least she's not scared & hurt.

Finding the body won't clear them...but at least they will know for sure that they little girl is not suffering anymore. As much as they may hope & strive to find her alive, and must do for the rest of their lives, am certain that this thought must play havoc in their minds & hearts.

Considering the amount of money they are paying for PR and lawyers and the fact that they are not allowed to discuss the case they seem to have some remarkably stupid friends who A) are obviously coming forward under the guidance of their spin machine and B) are doing a remarkably bad job at it.

The only comfort in all of this is that the press, although still remarkably and indeed ludicrously sympathetic seems to be printing all this crap and bearing in mind they don't like being played, I think they are probably letting the McCanns dig their own grave (sorry, bad choice of words) without risking the inevitable threats to sue.

I think you'll find that they actively relish printing these quotes because they know that the Great British public will read in to it exactly what they already know.

The whole saga from the beginning has been orchestrated to protect Gerry & Kate and their reputations.
If they should find Madeleine's body, it certainly won't immediately lift any suspicion from them, in fact, the PJ and many others believe that Madeleine possibly met her fate and the hands of her parents and their group of cronies.

haven't seen this article but all i can say is that as long as there is no body, there is always a hope that she is alive and could be found, I know that is how we would feel if god forbid, one of our children were to go missing.
