I'm not sure that we can become free from all self deception. We all delude ourselves at some time or another and that just might be a good thing to help us get through the day. Blessings on you.

If he is truly free of it, he really would truly understand everything. Because he could not fool himself, and he would be able to see through the deception of others because he would not be able to deceive himself with false information. I guess the word "Enlightenment" from the previous answer is the simplest way to describe it.
