I am a sophomore in college and I need journal entry topics to write about for my love and friendship philosophy class. Topics that can be related to love (like brotherly clove, compassion, respect etc) and friendship. Topics can be questions, opinions, experinces or stories that have a moral and can be discussed and analyzed!

Examples of topics!! I've written 6 entries so far in the class:

1.To love others- you must first love yourself
2.Popularity: few friends- who truly know you or many friends who truly don't.
3.The difference between Lonely and Alone (My professor loved this entry)
4.Time to tear down the wall: “Sometimes you put walls up not to keep people out, but to see who cares enough to break them down” I argued that, “People are lonely because they build walls instead of brides” because walls divide whereas brides connect. (professor also loved this entry)
5.Animal Love- Affection streched beyond human-beens
6.To give up on love (bitterness)

One thing you can talk about is how the dynamics of friendships are screwed up thanks to this lovely ideal of romance. That you can know a person all your life, yet let a person you just met, screw you simply because their cuter and more romantic? You can then also explain more why it is that friends could become great lovers, but lovers rarly become great friends. That aside you can also talk about how unhealthy most peoples view of love is. That love is a simple emotions whose job it is to excite us to FEEL. And these feeligns can give rise to the actions of love, compassion, passion, understanding, trust, honesty, and companianship. That love as a purpose of a relaitonship is fool-hearted because in live you need more then just love, you need to apply it to something, a purpose, like family, church, or just helping the poor. This way you can explain to that love isn't enough in a relationship, but how you use it specks volumes. Just things I explain to people everyday, might make some good filler for you..... I got more to lol.

If I'm understanding you correctly, I give you a topic & write about it. I feel that you can't just pick a topic that is given to you & write about it. You have to have lived, or expierenced the topic. I think I have a topic that you might not be able to relate to, but you can learn how. I'll say that the odds of having this topic covered by any one else in your class, should be slim to none. If you do this for 24 hrs, & DO NOT cheat. You will have a look & expierience into to your new topic ... try this. " What It Is Like to Live with One Leg. in a Two Legged World. " All you'll need is a pair of crutches, short rope & a lot of determination. Tie your left foot to the top of your leg, lously. The only thing to remember not to cheat, not once! You eat, go out as usual, bathe. EVERYTHING! Go about with your daily business. You will be able to use your crutches, as one would do if they had one leg, for 24 hrs. Then you can write what it is like to live like am amputee. The topic is an important one. There are a lot of disabled people in this country & with the war in Irac going on, there will be many more impaired ( I hate the word disabled, that is a state of mind, not a limitation ) If you follow through with this, you'll understand what I mean. You will be able to write with compassion & empathy. Just a topic, I think that you can change a lot of peoples perception of disbilites. If you do this topic, please let me know what you taught others, as well as first hand imformation by living through it. The nice thing about it is that in 24 hrs, you can remove the tie & return to the real world ... Good Luck!
