I would really like to put my opinion in on this one!
I'm 15, and I guess that you could say that I wear some revealing clothes. Not all of my clothes are like this..but a good number of it is.
FIRST OFF: Pants. Jeans nowadays are made different. its VERY hard to find pants that aren't low, and I'm sorry, but I can't help it that my crack shows. lol!! i just try my best not to bend over, and I have a special way of getting closer to the ground if i need to pick something up. I try also to wear longer shirts..this certainly helps hide it. I don't wear suuuper short skirts. and other than the tightness of my pants, they really aren't inappropriate or revealing at all.
You are probably older and may not be able to understand how hard it really is to find "higher" pants, plus, high-waisted pants are ..ew. ALL of my pants are tight and loww..i love it though. I think they look hot. lmao just try to see it from MY point of view.
SECOND: Shirts. Sure, I have some lower cut shirts..but that doesn't make me a skank. I'm not going around flashing teenage boys and older men. Just because they can see the area ABOVE my boobs doesn't meant they can see my boobs. They aren't seeing anything!
I don't wear see-through shirts, and if a shirt is at all see-through i wear a tank underneath to keep from people seeing anything.
I DO respect myself, and that's exactly why I'm not a skank. Just because I may dress in tight clothes doesn't meant that I'm a "prosti-tot" as you say. (which, btw, is quite clever!) I've never kissed a boy, never even had a bf..so I'm not s!utty. I have a lot of respect for myself. I don't do most things that your stereotypical teenager would (drink, smoke, sex etc.). I just wear clothes that I like and think are cute.
On the issue of my parents..they aren't bad parents. I'm a good, Christian, smart, nice, respectable girl. And the way i dress doesn't have anything to do with their parenting or the way i act. I have actually heard about my mom talking about the way i (used to) dress. I used to wear a lot of darker clothes..i guess you could say that I was "emo" hah, and I heard my mom talking to my grandma about the fact that she was just gonna let me be me. She didn't care how I dressed (and i don't/didn't dress inappropriate!!!!) and wasn't gonna go into that battle because there were more important things to worry about in life other than the fact that I wore black. I mean why even bother with that?! i believe that my mom was totally in the right. she was just choosing her battles..and that was one that she didn't want to bother with.
I really respect my mom for feeling/being that way.
So quit judging kids/people on their appearance. Its unflattering, its disrespectful, and quite frankly, its immature. Maybe you should start worrying about more important things, and quit worrying about the way other people's children dress.

I'm not a girl but the answer is pretty obvious. Youth copy adults and what they are exposed to. When you look at how secular industries as well as day to day people behave regularly, its pretty obvious. I'm noy saying its a good thing to dress like that but the older generation should make sure they're in order before trying to criticize younger generations.

I have no idea! I notice it too. Not everyone dresses like that, but those who do must do it to either mimick their parent or because they want to feel like no one has control over them. I personally dont dress like that and the people I hang out with dont either. But other kids in school do. And for the guys, why wear the baggy pant that allow the whole neighborhood to see your underwear. I dont want to see it. Please I would be more atrrasted if people dressed properly that they do. It is a crazy and strange world out there.

my mom doesn't care how i dress in the least really, but i dress like a boy, which pissess her off so bad. lol. the slutt look is overrated. and cold.... i get cold easily. i just don't like showing that much. i could walk out in a small tube top and mini skirt that rides and she wouldn't care. she'd probably aprove. she tells me to dress more like a girl. lol. i think most girls base how they dress off of parents(moms who dress like hoochies) or celeberties(crappy pop stars who can't keep their shirts on) and other around them who are influenced by this. i'm not. I'm rebellious. ^_^

Because their parents don't seem to care. My daughter will never wear a pair of pants that shows any bit of underwear, she will never wear a skirt that doesn't reach her fingertips with her hands down at her sides, she will not wear any shirt that shows her stomach anywhere public, nor will she wear a shirt that shows cleavage. Period. It's disgusting and ridiculous.
PS: I love that you used the word "Prostitots". That's one of my favorite phrases ever. :D
Edit: To Erica: Well, at least your mother has some sense. You are obviously one of those girls of which we speak. I'm probably not even that much older than you, but at least I had the sense at your age to know that I would look like a slut wearing those things. It's revolting. You should have more pride in yourself than to have to try to flaunt your body. You should be ashamed of yourself. You'll only ever be seen as a sexual object. No man will ever take you seriously or respect you.

i don't.
lol me and my friends joke around about me being a prostitute....but i'm not. i would be wayy too self conscious to wear clothers like that...hee hee hee....we say we're 'prostitologists' as in, we study prostitutes.....lolz. but, no i have no clue why girls would wanna dress like that, cuz i know i can't. my dad would kill me and i wouldn't be able to say i have an ounce of self respect in my body. seriously, i agree with you, despite the jokes between me and my friends. eew! i hate it when my pants are so low they show my crack! grossness! i don't have enough boobs to have cleavage, so yeah.

The parents don't want thier kids to be mad at them becasue they said no to them. They think their kids have a right to wear what they want - which they don't unless they are living on their own paying for all of their own stuff.
Also look at what is on TV, like on MTV it is soft porn. They dress like what they see on TV.
