spontaneous - acting or resulting from a natural feeling or impulse, without constraint, effort, etc.

comes from the Latin "of free will"

capricious - subject to caprices, erratic

caprice - a sudden, impulsive change in thinking or acting

Overall - I think spontaneous is a little more like "changing plans when it suits or when circumstances change" while I think of capricious as more "just changing one's mind."
