I find myself coming up with a few questions and hypocrisies about Christianity that keep me from completely embracing the religion. For instance this pickle... the Christian religions say if you are homosexual, you are going to hell. Now I'm not gay, but I understand that that true gays are born gay which means God made them that way, so why are they being condemned to hell? Does that mean God doesn't want us to be ourselves? Whats the dilly? I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts but especially by the practicing Christians out there

The church did come first so it is what the people believed, for lack of any other choices.

I also believe that people are born gay just as they are born straight. I challenge the straight people out there to tell me when they made "The Choice" to be straight? did they EVER entertain the idea that they could be gay?

And you say that people can just switch to being straight.... ARE YOU SERIOUS?

Tell me if you straight people out there were made to turn gay, would you be happy even for one day? would you accept it and everything it means?

You cannot change your sexuality any more than you can change the color of your skin!

Oh and BTW, accordding to ancient biblical tgeachings the earth was 'flat' held up by 4 giant turtles on an ocean. if you went too far in any direction you would fall off the edge. It was also said that the earth was the center of the universe and everything rotated around the earth.

it was Science which was able to prove the earth was not flat, but round and that the earth was not the center of the universe, but that it revolved around the Sun, wh ich in turn revolves around our galaxy!

The church shunned some of the greatest minds including Isaac Newton, for disproving the flat earth theory and that he lived his last years in isolation.

Once again just as Kivan said, Science proves the bible wrong! Do any of you believe the earth is still flat and that if you go too far you will fall off the edge?

So does that mean I'm going to hell for being gay? well entertaining the idea that there is a hell, which I do not believe there is, my answer is simply NO

I never chose to be gay, just as I never choise the color of my skin, or the country I live or language I speak.

Science is showing time and time again there are possible chemical and brain anatomical causes for people being gay or straight.

There are many homosexual and previously homosexual Christians. Just due to the fact that you're a Christian does not imply you'll by no means have emotions like that or be tempted to are living a homosexual way of life - however it is no distinct than some other sexual sin. We are not meant to have intercourse external of marriage. We are not meant to dedicate incest. We are not meant to have homosexual intercourse. We are not meant to lust after anybody we don't seem to be married to. And so on. It's a difficult factor, however it is simply yet another of the numerous temptations Satan has dreamed up. With God's support, a homosexual character CAN recuperate normalcy. I consider that despite the fact that a character has sexual urges towards a member in their possess intercourse, they are able to be a Christian. They simply must manipulate the ones urges, similar to some other character has to manipulate their sexual urgers towards the opposite intercourse. It all comes all the way down to the equal factor. God by no means stated that blue eyes are evil. He DID say that homosexuality is evil. But, considering He loves each unmarried character, he desires to supply us ALL a hazard to repent and are living consistent with His will. He loves homosexual individuals. He does not love what they do. Likewise, he loves liars. He does not love what they do. And I do NOT consider that any one is born homosexual, any further than a character is born alcoholic.

Again... no...

Even the christians (which are not the only people on earth) would have to admit that the Bible also says:

Jesus: "I tell you the truth, the prostitute and tax collector shall enter the kingdom of heaven before ye."
(Matthew 21:32)

What this means is that "misconduct" is a lesser sin than hypocrisy.

All of the biblical citations that lead a person to believe that homosexuality is a sin are gospels (which comes from the same root-word as gossip).

I have a Christian friend that cleverly asks "Is it written in red letters?" (meaning: did Jesus say it) when people start admonishing homosexuals in the name of Christ.

Christ - were he alive today - would be spending his time healing the sufferers of AIDS before he would be fraternizing with powerful mega-church leaders.

Christians who use homophobia as the basis of their entire religion are not followers of Christ... they are followers of hate.

All people sin, if you are a christian... judge not.

Muslims, who use the Qur'an as their sacred text (which is actually quite similar to the Bible - with some "extras") have been quite homophobic in their society as well... which many Muslims will freely admit is a political doing before it is a religious one...
This leads us to the idea that homophobia, fundamentalism, and terrorism share definite, undeniable traits:
Intolerance, hatred, murder, hypocrisy, false righteousness, rebellion against science, mistreatment of women and minorities, and finally - claims that they are the ONLY true followers of their particular faith.

Buddhism, Hindu, Wicca, Asatru, Vodun, Unitarian Universalism, Religious Science (not scientology), Taoists, Druids, United Church of Christians, United Church of Canada, Episcopal Church, USA and thousands of others have taken measures to end homophobic rhetoric in their religions (or never had much homophobia in the first place)....

I believe that God is merciful and that Christ died for our sins.I don't believe that we are born gay. My friends you see the very first institution God established was not the church but the family man women and child . This structure has been under attack by the enemy for years. Our existence depends on man and women and the ability by Gods will to conceive child. I don't believe that gays go to hell though for it is a sin but so is gluttony .

If there is a hell, and if there is an unjust godlike being that would condemn/reward people based upon rather silly criteria, then all the decent people will be in hell.

but luckily, that's only a dishonest, evil mind-control scheme.

The only gays that are going to hell are those who abuse children.
