I help around the house a lot, and I did pass out fliers for babysitting, except no one ever called me for it, and I'm only 13, so there are hardly any jobs that I can do. And I am trying to get a good education.
Thanks for all the supportive answers so far

I found out much later in life that many of my friends that appeared to have a lot of money, in reality did not. They were 'keeping up with the Jones'" which if you don't know means they wanted what everyone else had so they would look good. They have credit cards maxed out, houses mortgaged twice, spending money they didn't have to look good on the surface.
I think growing up poor(which is a relative term), or not having as much as your friends is a good thing because later in life you'll appreciate what you do have more instead of focusing on the things you don't have now. The advantage you will have is knowing what it's like to do without and how to survive it.
When you are out of school and have you first job do two things; One is start a retirement account, Roth IRA is the best. Second, do not live paycheck to paycheck so you can save money. If it means doing without certain luxury's like plasma TV, Digital Cable, brand new car every other year..so be it. You will be ahead of the game. The more you save early, the more returns you get in the long run due to interest it earns.
This is advice I wish I had right after High school.
Live for yourself and family, not everyone else.

I am lucky enough to have come from a well off family & had all i wanted when a kid. Now as an older adult, i struggle as i went my own way & stood on my own 2 feet, I am not rich at all, i get by but i am happy with this. I look back at what i had , i woud be a liar to say i dont miss it but i am proud of what i have achieved without a hand out.

You can't choose your parents. If you want to escape being poor, then get a good education and a good career. Wanting what is not possible is sad. I'm sure your parents are doing the best the can for you. Stop asking for things they can't afford to buy you. Get a part-time job and buy the things for yourself. You will be so far ahead of your rich friends. You will know how to take care of yourself and they will only know to ask Daddy for more. Good luck.

I do the best that I can. I'm not particularly materialistic, but it does get problematic when it comes to health care and related expenses.
