Giuliani is still leading nationally closely followed by thompson, Romney is leading in key states, and Thompson is doing good both in the states and nationally but he kinda did poorly in the CNBC debate. The thing with Giuliani and Romney is that Giuliani is pro-choice and that James Dobson character might run a third party candidate (vote spoiler like Ross Perot) and if Romney gets the nomination there are a bunch of bigots who won't vote for him just because he is a mormon. I personally think Giuliani has some bi-partisal appeal and Romney is a grest speaker. While thompson has the best conservative record. Its a tough call. What do you think? There is a poll of likely caucus participants and romney won it. Can that forshadow anything about his chances of getting the nominations (even though hes not doing well nationally)

I think it would be smart for two of the candidates to come together early now to see if they can push Rudy who is too socially liberal out and Romney who has a flip flop record out as well.

If Fred Thompson and Huckabee were to join together they would likely move way up in the polls!

They would be my first choice as a TEAM for Pres. and VEEP.

Romney doesn't have an original political thought in his head -you'd speak well too if you were rehearsed - throw him a question off guard, and see his true colors;
Giuliani is a gangster using 9/11 as his platform (he kind of remind me of Nino Brown in the wedding scene in New Jack City, where he grabs one of the flower girls and uses her as a shield)
Thompson is a lazy f**k, and McCain gets easily caught up.
Not to mention that the top 3 don't care enough about the black and Hispanic vote to even attend debates sponsored by these groups due to "scheduling conflicts", which is such a missed opportunity bc A) it's an insult to persons of color who vote Republican, and B) contrary to popular belief, not every person of color is sold on Obama.
I would choose Ron Paul for the GOP nomination - bc he's one of the few voices in this pony show that makes a damned bit of sense.

In a perfect world it would be Ron Paul..

But let's look at this realistically.. Rudy Giuliani has been embroiled in scandals, his 9/11 record is blotched.. just ask the firefighters that blame him for the defective radios, that he was warned about, which resulted in over 242 deaths...

He later claimed that he spend just as much time as workers on ground zero, and didn't offer any kind of sympathy for the fact that they are suffering from illnesses, It was later found that he only spend 29 hours on ground zero, less then the time he spend at Yankee Stadium..

Then he was warned in 1993, after the first world trade center attacks to move the security office from the seventh floor out of the building in case of an emergency.. of course he didn't listen and look at the results..

He won't sign a pledge confirming lower taxes

His co-chair has been quoted as labeling "blacks retarded," not to mention that Giuliani's main sponsors have been caught in money fraud, drug/prostitution scandals

Don't forget when Rudy was mayor he was already accused of racial profiling, and not even reading the 9/11 commission report

He has been married three times, including once to his cousin, and his own children won't even speak to him, his daughter plans to vote for someone else..

I highly doubt based on his record that he would have any cross over appeal.. I for one can say if he wins the nom, my vote will go to the democrat..

Romney is a major flip flopper, but I think he would have a better chance then Giuliani overall

Either way you look at it the deciding factor in this election is the war in Iraq, unless the GOP can put up an anti-war candidate like Ron Paul, this election will be won by a democrat

I think Romney scores low nationally only because he's not well known. In those states where he's advertised, he is well liked.

I've been very impressed by the number of Internet supporters Ron Paul has, but, let's face it, Paul doesn't have a chance. Sorry!

Ron Paul will, but if it is stolen from him it will be Mitt Romney, look at all the support, google his name you get 30 million, google mitt and rudy you get 3 million....I think Ron Paul will grow, but probably Mitt Romney will win, he has money, definetly a family man, unlike Giuliani, and he leads in NH and Iowa, now history shows you that whomever wins here goes on and wins the nomination.

Thompson... unfortunately.

(He does NOT have the best conservative record btw... that's just silly on your part.)

He has lymphoma and so I will be watching his VP more than him...

I can't stand him but I think he will be beat by the dems anyway... Romney is the absolute worst but not electable.

I won't get my dream election - Obama VS. Ron Paul or Guiliani (win/win for liberals)

The only reason why I don't think I would vote for Romney is because he's a politician. I listened but didn't watch the debates and it seems like they ALL spoke in sound bites.

BOOOORING!

Personally, I lean towards the Libertarians.

I hope it's Ron Paul. It will be the greatest disaster ever to fall upon the GOP if he did not win the nomination.

If the Republicans have any sense, they will choose Giuliani. He is the best-placed to grab the centrist vote that might be inclined to vote for Hillary Clinton (assuming she gets the nomination).
