The seventeenth century can be described as one in which, "tyrants had been tamed; liberty defended, religious toleration established and the british constitutional monarchy born." To what extent does this description accurately represent the legacy of 17th century britain?

~It depends on whether you ask Oliver Cromwell or Charles I. They may have a difference of opinion. On the whole, it may be a more fair assessment of the 18th century.

I belive it had something to with Charles who had his head cut off and Parliment was incharge for a full 11 years. Which really made the rest of Europe really...Bugged.
