The Unions were originally set up to protect the workforce and to begin with they did an honourable job of it....but holding a crippled company to ransom by strike action should be illegal.
The postal workers do NOT have a bad deal compared to many other workers, the difference is they have the union to back them up and the last thing the Postal workers or the unions care about is the general public and small businesses that are suffering as a consequence.....and as a matter of fact they rely on the general public suffering hardship, it adds more muscle to their bully boy tactics.
well done you for having the courage to speak your mind.
edit: Liadan - and what of the small companies that rely on mail order? are the posties going to help them keep their heads above water or do they see the small businessman as canon fodder and worth the sacrifice of them losing their homes and incomes?
I have a friend who was just starting to break even in her own business...she's about to lose everything because of the friendly neighbourhood postie who doesn't give two hoots whether she ever financially recovers... she works harder than anyone i know and its just awful watching her lose it all...so before you judge people...try understanding that actually this strike IS hitting some people really hard, the general public is made up of individuals....will your husband help her? fat chance he doesn't even care if she exists

Take it to the managers. It's their fault posties are striking.
You are the one being selfish here. These people are fighting for better work conditions and for keeping their jobs. Surely you'd want the public to support you if you were on strike for those reasons.
I'm sorry if your book is delayed and you'll have to pay penalties.
If my partner doesn't strike and ends up losing his job, we might find that we don't have a house to live in.
I'm sure you can see that's a lot worse than having to pay a stupid penaltie for a late bill.
So think twice before calling someone selfish.

They have a right to strike. Why don't you think that the Royal Mail Bose's have no responsibility? These people pay taxes so that applicants can have education.
The fact that you put you book above thousands of postal workers and only have empathy for Ox bridge. Surly is the definition of selfishness. So much for your education.

lol. And of course all the postmen and women will bow to yr wishes. They r fighting for pay and conditions and pensions not to be eroded by their Management. There r other ways to send books, but probably more expensive, so why dont u use those methods. If the Royal Mail Management get their way, you wouldnt be getting any service.

I am waiting for some results to come through and have been waiting for 2 months. I can't get on with my course work untill these results are in. They were sent to me about 6 weeks ago (before the strike even started) So I reckon I'll not see them again. So I say......Oh are the postal workers on strike? Some of us would never had known.

i do no longer think of Scorpio would fairly fall below those descriptions. Scorpio could be a selfish sign, yet they are regularly in uncomplicated terms looking out for their ideal activity while they are; they do no longer look to be regularly uncaring as a rule. Capricorns could be fairly selfish and selfish. they are continuously attempting to flow places, and their organic allure to finer issues lads them to be this type. Capricorn is an exceptionally in a position sign, this is why they are seen to be slightly selfish, and that they regularly DO comprehend what they are doing in maximum circumstances, and have not any concern pointing out this, this is why they could be seen selfish. i do no longer likely think of Sagittarius are "selfless" nonetheless. they are regularly large, as you reported, yet they are frequently centred on their very own freedom and having a powerful time to fairly be seen selfless. They do make dazzling acquaintances, and that they are no longer regularly selfish, yet they could be perceived as selfish besides, because of the fact they are fairly in basic terms centred on the subsequent great journey.

strange, most of the time people say who needs royal mail? there are plenty alternatives. unfortunately you have now found out there are alternatives but not for Joe public. and they are very expensive, the postal service was opened up for businesses not you lot. you lot will pay more and more for less and less. too bad you couldn't have stood up for yourselves like we have had to. still who cares i have all i need. you young ones have fcuk all and its getting less and less everyday. but hey you have this so things arnt too bad. and your mobile phones you like them, oh and big brother. pity you have no services, no chance of decent jobs, no chance of buying a decent house. and no future, too bad.
