I'm live in another country by myself, I mean I could if I want to hide it, by I guess eventually they will know, I'm not in any relationship now but I'm wondering when I gonna tell my parents? plus I'm scared, depend on my parents' personality if I do tell them, they probably will tell to me change my name and never visit them again... what should I do? when should I tell them the truth?

It's time to start building your own family, so you will have a partner and lots of GLBTSA friends to introduce your parents to. You are 22, it is time to have your own life, and to invite your parents to share it with you. Good Luck and don't hide behind being scared. Tell the truth. It sounds like a very nice truth to me, and something that could be of benefit to people like your parents who don't even know you well enough to know better than to pressure you into a forced marriage. I say get to know them better, and if they don't like the real you, then they are not really parents, just breeders.

U can't wait anymore. U have to tell your parents about your situation. U have to persuade them or leave them, that depends on their understanding. But u have to speak as soon as possible which will reduce some burden.

Your sexuality is your business not your parents'.

Are your parents from a traditional asian country? That could cause problems. You are not though, so I suggest you adopt the traditions of the country you are in and live your life to the full as a gay man.

Have fun!

I agree with Magic Bus Driver...your sexuality is your business....

Just tell your parents you don't want to get married...
be a "confirmed batchelor"... like in the 1930's...

I know you want to tell them...because its hard hidding it...
but you should tell them only when you can understand and accept that they might react negatively....

That's something that we all have to deal with.
Hopefully they will understand...

Good Luck to you...

Write them a letter telling them, but YOU must say to them if THEY want to know you, they should contact YOU. expect them to dump you then if they don't you'll be happy. that's what I did and it was fine, you have to be strong and expect the worst. good luck
