...much as I was vary hard pressed to imagine anyone remaking the original "Psycho" (...and we all know how outlandishly bad THAT turned out to be!!), I would feel not unlike the same way with a remake of "The Exorcist"; why not just let that film stand alone, as is?? How can anyone even begin to conceive of topping it, let alone coming close to equalling it??
...I must candidly admit, however, I was intrigued at the prospect, proposed in the late 90's, of writer/director William Peter Blatty working with TNT, on a mini-series remake; this, of course, never came to pass...
...in the final analysis, I really have to say, "Leave It Alone, People!!!"...

Don't do it nothing can beat an original film, remakes ruin the original films such as Halloween remake rubbish, Psycho remake rubbish and so on.
Vince Vaughn Norman Bates was a wooden character not a patch on Anthony Perkins.

God i hope not, some of the remakes have been pointless recently.
The Fog had no atmosphere
The Omen nothing special
The Hills Have Eyes not as menacing
I watch Asian horror flicks more now days, they are original and have stacks of atmosphere, for example The Ring or A Tale Of Two Sisters.
Overall The Exorcist is a true classic, and they should leave it well alone.

The remake of the Omen wasn't exactly awful, but offered nothing different than the original. The script and characters were identical, and all the gory bits were virtually the same. Pointless.

I agree it will stink.
Ever see the remake of Psycho? Total trash. The only thing you can do is be more gory and that's not a good film idea
