but my favorate ornament is this little gold bear with a christmas hat and it has a little bell on it. someone very close to me gave it to us a long time ago........they're not with us anymore, and that sucks.

i have many that i cherish because they bring back memories of my childhood. of them, i actually have 2 that i look forward to getting out of the box ...
one is a rocking horse that my great grandma handpainted. it's one of the last things she gave me before she died . no one besides me touches that ornament.
the other is one my mom gave me probably about the same time. it's a cute little mouse reading a book. it makes me smile everytime i get it out.
word of caution though...some ornaments, especially hallmark ones, increase greatly in value. i had a train with santa in it that i got when i was about 7 (i'm pushing 33 now). my oldest son got it off the tree when the babysitter was here. he destroyed it. i didn't think too much about it until i was at a christmas show and found out that ornament was worth $800.

I couldn't pick a favorite. Each and every ornament has a memory attached and our family always relives those memories as we pull out an ornament and put it on the tree. Decorating the tree is an event in itself!
