That people have been attacking Turkey from Iraq? It seems like they are blaming congress for the problems with turkey, Why not blame the people who are actually responsible? The people who are crossing over from Iraq to attack Turkey? Is it just so you can pretend the democrats are the problem or is it really because you don't know about the situation?

Its because the republicans dont know the situation. As bad as thier intelligence people are my guess which is probably more accurate than thier intelligence will ever be is that iran is attacking turkey. As usual republicans trying to blame someone else for thier faults.

Whats i find puzzling is that republicans think al-quieda and iraqi's are the same group.

If the US was justified in chasing Al Qaeda 10,000 miles away from American soil, why is Turkey not justified in chasing PKK (Kurdish militants) who are right across the Turkish-Iraqi border?. The PKK were responsible for the killing of 29 Turkish soldiers in southern Turkey.

Remember that Turkey is also fighting the "war on terror". The PKK was listed as a terrorist organization by the US, EU, and Turkey for years. The PKK is what to Turkey as Al Qaeda is what to the US.

The sad part is that the PKK has a wide popular support among the Kurdish population of northern Iraq. An attack on the PKK would be like declaring war on the Kurds, which the US wouldn't want to happen, as the US consider the Kurds as very imporant allies within Iraq.

If Turkey decides to take a unilateral action against the PKK inside Iraq, then nobody can really blame them. After all, the US did exactly the same thing when it unilaterally decided to invade Afghanistan and Iraq.

Honestly, most Americans couldn't find Iraq on a map with political boundries. Do you think they could find Turkey? How many Americans do you really think know about the Kurdish problem? Or the similarities it bears to Kosovo and Serbia? Do you really think most Americans know about the alleged Armenian Genocide and its consequences? Do they know anything about Armenia?

Most Americans care about having a job, a roof over their head, and food on the table. They want to take care of their kids and have some free time. They would love to have adequate health insurance and look forward to a secure retirement.

It's the same old story: Basic needs vs. higher needs. I'm one of the lucky ones because I have all the things above and have had the time to learn about world issues or to have studied them in the past.

The average Joe or Jane simply has other concerns. Why do you think most Americans just don't care about foreign affairs?

To attempt to rile Turkey about a declaration of genocide that took place decades ago while we are working with them in an ongoing conflict at present is proof that the democrat party is either too foolish to understand foreign policy, or (as I suspect) childish and vindictive...either way, they don't deserve any respect over this.

democrats brought up the subject..probably to further damage bush's reputation. i think the republicans are aware of this...except the fact that they have no clue on what to decide. turkey's our biggest ally. we need their permission to have our aircrafts PASS their airspace. ok, so i don't know much about the situation, but democrats are a pain in the butt.

the people who are responsible ARE CONGRESS. the pelosi/reid regime disounts the danger of al qaeda and these are precisely the people responsible. why liberals dont get al qaeda as a real threat baffles me. we need no grandstanding and posturing by pelosi on the defense bills. unrelated pork spending doesnt support the troops, FUNDING DOES.
