You can have some earned income and your disability may be reduced by the amount that you earn depending on the amount. This allows some disabled to work in sheltered workshops to learn skills. You can also have some income from trusts that have been set up to take care of you. Your attorney can tell you more about these types of trusts and how they will affect your disability.

Your best bet is to talk to a disability attorney in your area. Many times trying to get disability on your own is close to impossible anyway and you would probably need one in the long run.
