It is very likely that we will have to encounter many individuals with the ideologies of Adolf Hitler however the amount of power that individual holds is another question all together. The Nazi movement still exists today and there are many people in all cultures who support eugenics (racial hygiene). However the Nazi movements in North America and most of the world have begun to dwindle as their leaders have died off or lost interest in the cause. If you want to know the Best place to look for the next Hitler check the Aryan Brotherhood. Not only are these guys powerful in a scary way they also embody the views that Hitler emphasized. They are primarily a prison gang however from inside prisons they manage to run a multi-million if not billion dollar operation, now that's power. If one of their members ever gained popularity in the U.S. during a state of massive economic crisis like Germany was in during Hitler's rise to power it would be very likely we could see the next Hitler. At the end of the day though it will still come down to the right mixtures of circumstance, power, and views; no matter where this individual comes from.

Bush and Co. are much more the evolution of Fascism or a hybrid neo monarchy. Bush and Co are a bunch of aristocrats who believe they are destined to be part of a world oligarchy.
Putin's Russia shows all the earmarks of a Nazi style totalitarianism. Putin served his country during an earlier period and his popularity is largely based on the perception that he is reestablishing Russian greatness.
There are many individuals who are would be Hitlers.

Honestly, I think it might help in terms of your responses if you define what "just like Hitler" means to you... do you mean a genocidal lunatic. We have had plenty of those; do you mean a charismatic but evil leader? Cause tons of leaders would fit into this category. Do you mean a Fascist? because again there have been many since hitler. Do you mean someone willing to attack their own country to blame it on their enemy du'jour to drum up support and fear? Again we've had plenty... etc.

I think so. All you need is a charismatic, power-hungry person to seize control of a struggling, impoverished nation. As the world-wide population continues to grow and competition for resources becomes more aggressive, I think you will see more nations in the same position as pre-WWII Germany.

We just took one out of Iraq.
I see you added that Saddam was the only one who could control Iraq. He did so by using the same techniques Hitler and the SS did. I guess you made my point.

Chavez, bin ladin, saddam,,, Basically they are taking straight from hiltlers play book...Impoverish the people first, make them oppressed and uneducated then come and preach the greatness of themselves and how everyone else is to blame and throw money at them so they depend on you for their every basic need and thus a cult movement is born very similar to hitlers.
Hugo is only at step one...He dismantled the government next his population will almost starve then he'll blame the U.S. then he'll try to become a hero to his people...
