The handbook inside your glove compartment in the specifications section will give you the info. If you don't have one go to autopatrswarehouse.com, enter your car make and year. In the top box enter: Spark Plugs. All the plugs displayed will match the proper gap of your car. Any library has Chilton and Motors Manuals which will give you the info.

I would have helped if you'd have entered the year make and model of your car. Generally speaking the plugs are pre-gaped in individual boxes or packages. It's OK to check plug gaps with round plug gaping tools but dangerous to try re-gaping expensive iridium plugs because the center electrode is very brittle. For the price you're paying I'd take your sales receipt in and get another one.
Platinum is very forgiving (soft) and it perfectly OK to re-gap slightly if necessary.
