And if it's a bad thing, which I reckon it is, how do you MAKE yourself cry?

I think its a bad thing.
It doesnt neccessarily mean that you have no emotions it could mean that you are afraid to show your emotions for whatever reason. It could be a whole load of underlying problems. I have experienced this and I wish I could change it.

I am going to disagree with the majority.

I very rarely cry, and I've been in some pretty bad situations.

I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing. A reasonable alternative to tears is quiet contemplation. You can still feel and experience the emotions, you can still learn and grow that way. It will often take longer to work through emotions if you don't have the outlet of tears, but that doesn't mean that one is emotionally deficient. It just means that emotions are expressed differently.

As long as emotions are not being suppressed and ignored then it is not strictly necessary to cry. If you are a very logical person then there will be natural tendency to analyze your emotions rather than actually feel them. Try to find the balance where you both analyze and feel your emotions. That balance is key to being able to work through your feelings.

Everyone is different. Don't think that you have to be the same in order to be healthy.

one crying and emotions are not explicitly linked.
despite how many women/people would have it seen.

crying is one method for releasing emotions through bodily action.

crying also serves other purposes, or more to the point fluid released from the ducts near the eyes serves other purposes.

You shouldnt be out to make yourself cry.

You are not unable to cry - hit your self on the nose - if your eyes water - then you can cry even if its rare.

not crying doesnt mean an absence of care, it just means an absence of crying - people have different ways of showing thier feelings.

About the closest I tend to get is one or two tears, I don't sob. have done - just rare. Im usually to busy dealing with things to break down, others break down and decide Im unfeeling because I dont display the same way - fair enough leave to their judgmental uncaring ways. (I know they dont care because they dont take the time to see how you show it, and demand you show it the same way they do - thats not caring, thats judging, demanding you change from who you are, which betrays a controlling/abusive person)

trust me you will cry some day. it will take a lot of pain to bring you to it, thats all. You probably just wont do it in front of others and thats fine, no one should say that should feel comfortable doing it under varying circumstances - the point is if you going to consideration and care about you and what your going through should be given/shown - not demands that you meet their criteria.

end of.

is it the crying or the emotion? some people don't cry even if they feel the same as the person next to them in floods of tears.
crying is a strange thing; i cry when i'm in a really bad mood, but there've been times when i've been drenched in misery and desperate to cry just so i can let it out, but my face stays bone dry.
i reckon sometimes not crying can be bad, say, if you've been bottling stuff up and not letting it out. e.g., if i'm around other people i don't want to cry in front of them so i hold it back, but then later on my own i cna't anymore.
but other times not crying isn't so bad...it's not neccessarily a wonderfully good thing, but not a truly bad thing either.

We all have our time to cry on one occasion or another. I have a very difficult time crying at funerals, but when I hear a song or symphony that moves me in such a way it is absorbed through every pour in my body, I have tears that roll down my face. Crying comes in your own timing, not in someone else. Don't ever force yourself to react to emotion, let it come naturally. Always take ownership of your emotions. Crying is not bad nor is it good, it is therapeutic.

I reckon it is bad, sometimes crying is a relief, you know? I don't know how to make yourself cry though... Maybe think of something that makes you sad?

i think it depends. crying in the right context has therapeutic value. it's just the natural way the body deals with things. if not being able to cry is the equates to not having any emotion at all then it's definitely a bad thing.

I believe that it is.

To make yourself cry, I would suggest some physiological tricks. You can pinch yourself inside the nose. You can also start to shiver, and that can produce a tear or two.

Of, you can try the psychological. You can imagine a traumatic life situation, or you can attach extreme emotional significance to that person, and realize that they are gone.

Its bad,but I understand. Sometimes crying seems almost a waste of time. Something from your past or experience is blocking your emotions. my opinion. You cant make yourself cry, it will just happen.

crying or not depends on the person. To cry or not to.. its common, so it is not a bad thing.

How do you make youself cry? well I have asked myself the same question and in my case I think of my parents, and how lonely i am going to feel when they are gone. Think in something depressive, but something depressive to the extent that it could destroy you.

Good luck!.. I think!
