I have a PA amp and was wondering if there is a possibility of conncting it to a PC to record or do you need a mixing console? Also if you can how could you do it.

Thankyou

If you amp has a 'Line Level" output you can connect that to the "line input" on your computers sound card (if it has one many don't they only have a mic input). Line level will be low level and have no volume control when leaving the pa amp. Many PA systems don't provide line out but many do so whether you have that or not is the factor. You can't use any of the speaker or headphone outs (you might try the headphone out, but the mismatch may cause issues just keep the volume down!)

Once you are into the line input on your sound card, you should be able to record.

connect them with your xlr. get a xlr to 1/4 adapter which is like 5 dollars and a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter which is like 1 dollar and you are set.
