Ford usually put the VIN number in a couple of places.

1. On the drivers side stand facing the windshield with the drivers side mirror in front of you. Look inside the window you should see some numbers and letters. This is your trucks VIN (Vehicle Identification Number).

2. Open the door on the drivers side and look on the side of the door. There should be a sticker with the VIN and other information such as paint codes and tire inflation guides, etc.

3. Each number and letter of the VIN stands for something different about the truck.

4. Go to http://www.lmctruck.com and find the online catalog for your truck.

5. Next view the catalog on page 2 or 3 there should be a guide that tells you what each letter and number of the VIN stands for.

Hope this helps!

for a ford that year it wont be a 360, not stock anyway, and ford dont put out a 391,, a 390 yes, look at bottom side of block on drivers side, also if not there above your rear main seal between the block and trans, also you didnt specify where the distributor is located, front or rear,, the 390 is a big block and the distributor is in front, if in rear its a small block and most likely a 351 windsor, hope this helps

USUALLY ON THE SIDE OF IT.
YOU COULD LOOK AT THE #S ON THE MANIFOLD AND THEY SHOULD TELL YOU HOW BIG THE MANIFOLD IS AND YOU CAN DETERMINE THE SIZE OF THE ENGINE THAT WAY.
