I've been taking birth control for over a year, and I just missed my period.?

I've missed alot of pills lately, and my boobs have been sore and swollen, so I thought, I might be pregnant. So I took a pregnancy test and it came out negitive. I know with taking birth control theres a chance that your period is lighter or stops completely, but my period was always pretty much normal with birthcontrol, and never more than a day late. should I be concerned or wait and see what happens next month?
