I keep a spray bottle filled with white ammonia in my laundry room....and use it for all my stains. It is the very best product I've found. Also, it is very inexpensive. Here in the states you can buy yellow and white ammonia...but I prefer the white (it's actually clear...but called "white").
For very bad ground-in stains, I wet the area with water, then liberally spray it with the ammonia, use a soft toothbrush to gently scrub the stain, then spray it again. If the stain is still there, allow it to soak for a few hours, then scrub again. After the stain is gone, just put the item in with the regular wash.
I hope I've helped.

The way i get rid of stains is to place the article in very hot water depending on the material, with a good soap powder, i use Ariel which is brilliant, get a bucket with really hot water a good scoop of powder and soak over night then wash in the machine as normal, my kids socks get so bad i just soak them and they come back like new, all my mates are always asking me how i get them so clean, try it and I'm sure you will be amazed with the results, good luck.

I use Tide with Blean Alternative, 1/3 cup of 20 Mule Team Borax, and one cup of ammonia.... I let it wash the whole cycle, then I turn back the dial and let it was another whole cycle. Then I rinse twice.
I've gotten out set in stains from my son's baseball clothes this way and made them look like new.

Vanish or any of those on the supermarket shelves. I also put soda crystals in with my wash (no on delicates though or wool) You can buy them from the supermarkets. I have also used vinegar on some stains. It washes out without smell of vinegar on your stuff.

Vanish. The stuff actually works. Use the pre-treat soap or spray first and then the powder that can go in with your wash. It's colour friendly too :)

Here's the one:

You just damp the stained area, then rub in some of the Fairy household soap, before washing.
