read a paragraph twice. Then read it aloud.
Then read it again, and see how much you can say without looking at the page. Read more, and see how much more you can say without looking.
Read it again to put it in memory.
Read it in a different place, like in a car, or in the bathroom. Keep seeing how much you can do without looking at the page.
Once you think you have it down, read it again to make sure it's right, then say it again without looking. If you get stuck on a word, DON'T GUESS, look it up, then say it with your eyes closed.
It also helps if, while you are trying to memorize, your skin feels really cold, I don't know why.
Be awake! Drink some caffeine, like in coffee or Jolt Cola, or any other cola with caffeine in it. Practice each major speech as many times as you can, give up watching TV and games and shopping and everything, just keep reading and practicing those lines. But talk in a quiet voice while you read aloud, you don't want to lose your voice.

Jessica you can do it. All you need is confidence in yourself, other people have the confidence in you or you would not have been given the part. Look at one person in the audience and imagine a conversation between you except you know the words that are coming. Lastly don`t panic it only causes the brain to shut down, take a deep breath and remember you are the best or you would not be in the spotlight. I f you do forget carry on regardless, many actor have dried but the great ones say anything and carry on.Best of luck to you or should I say break a leg.

For me, I always read one line and then repeat it until memorized, then do the next line, and so on and so forth. Good luck, and remember that theres a reason you have that part, the stage directors really think, and I do to, that you can do it.

Why do you wait until the last minute to seek help? It is too late to do anything except have someone cue you and correct you over and over again. Write to me at the aol address in my profile and I will send you two pages of info on how to learn lines.

Don't look at it as learning your lines. You probably know them but you haven't put them in context with what the other chracters are saying yet. There's a whole conversation going on on stage, find out where you fit into it.

Just keep reading the lines overs and overs and overs till you get sick of reading them overs and overs, and then when you get sick of reading them overs and overs, read them agian overs and overs.......

Try to live your character, in that way you will do it as naturally as if you were talking and you won't feel you are memorising something.
