In Singapore, our slang called it " spare tyre". Maybe after the first delivery " spare tyre" has not been eliminated totally. So it is accumulative ?
Took me more than 18 months to get rid of my " Spare tyre" but realize I get fat easily after birth.

Your muscles have been through it before - they're more lax. While the uterus is not above the pubic bone yet, it is growing, and displacing your other organs. Your uterus has doubled/tripled in size by this point...about the size of a large grapefruit.
Wait until #3! I was in mat clothes from about 8 weeks, because real pants with an actual waistband were so uncomfortable.
Thanks! :)

I am 16 weeks along with my 2nd baby. At 10 weeks I was a little poofy, whereas with ym first pregnancy my stomach was still flat at that point . I wondered the same thing you did, since my uterus was barely above the pubic bone at that time. I guess it's like the others have said, that that your muscles are more lax and you have a little extra around the middle. Now at 16 weeks I am about the same that I was the first time around.

I agree with My3boys. I actually have 3 boys as well - with my third born last December!
I started wearing maternity pants with #2 around 8 weeks and #3 around 7 weeks. People felt confident asking me if I was pregnant at 12 weeks!
The unfortunate thing is that you are at that "middle tire" phase for a much longer time, which always is a bummer for self esteem.

i'm purely 9 weeks with my first and am noticing a mushy thickening around my waist yet i think of this is regularly bloat somewhat than toddler! I understand in spite of the undeniable fact that that with next infants, you are able to start to coach earlier because of the fact your abdomen muscle tissues are much less taut than the 1st time around, regardless of your physique shape or well being point. You do get larger extra at present with twins; while you're frightened you ought to verify in the journey that your healthcare professional will e book you in for an early test to substantiate what proportion are in there!
