Bin Laden and other extremists are more likely to have flown the planes and strike the WTC a second time. Much more than a plot by the US. But, this is a Presidential election season. With a Clinton running. Could we expect less?

If the government was behind 9/11, it would have been leaked by numerous sources.

Also, those people who will use Loose Change to back up their claims, its just a video made by some people with too much time on their hands, who are grabbing at straws, and not even using accurate information/reliable sources.

Whether the U.S. government participated in - or even knew about - the events of 9-11-01 is, and will always be, subject to speculation.
However, I believe we cannot simply take the government's 'word' since our government has lied to us so many times in the past:
* Speculation still abounds that FDR knew about Pearl Harbor in advance, but allowed soldiers to die, which led America directly into World War II;
* The government has never satisfactorily explained the incidents in Roswell, NM in 1947, especially to those who lived there and witnessed the events;
* The Warren Commission's sanitized version of JFK's assassination is not acceptable to millions of Americans; yet documents have been sealed for 75 years - until 2038 - when most of us who witnessed the tragedy will not be around to challenge the report;
* Our government lied about U-2 spy planes flying over the U.S.S.R. until Khrushchev shot one down and displayed it for the world to see;
* Our government lied about U.S. battleships being attacked in the Gulf of Tonkin, which led us directly into the Vietnam War;
* The military lied about the effects of Agent Orange on Vietnam veterans;
* The Reagan administration lied about an ill cit 'arms for hostages' deal until it was exposed as the Iran Contra scandal;
* The White House lied about a third-rate burglary in the Watergate Hotel until two young reporters dug out the truth and forced the resignation of a U.S. President;
* The White House lied about 'weapons of mass destruction', which led us directly into a 'war' against another sovereign nation that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the United States;
* Our government lied about the torture and sexual abuse of 'detainees', in direct violation of the rules of the Geneva Convention, until a courageous whistle blower posted photos on the Internet.

If our government has lied to us about things in the past, WHY is it not imagine able that we were lied to about 9-11?
Most administrations have had their 'hit lists' or 'enemies' list' - and many people on those lists have been silenced, have disappeared or died under mysterious circumstances. As American citizens we have a right - and an obligation - to ensure that our government is not involved in such sinister activities. We need to be ever vigilant and skeptical of everything our government says or does. If we simply accept the government's 'word', we will one day wake up and find ourselves being ruled by a totalitarian dictatorship. -RKO- 10/14/07

No. Do you really think that the government could cover up such an epic conspiracy? Undoubtedly, there would be so many leaks in the government that those involved in carrying out such a plan would be exposed almost immediately.
