Lemme get this straight: God made babies, butterflies, chocolate and the Grand Canyon, but Satan gets the credit (?) for vampire bats, cancer, bubonic plague, AIDS, hurricanes, and famine? Have I got that right?

This could be fun -- figuring out which things go in the god column and which go in the satan column:

Corvettes, Mustangs and T-birds -- God. Yugos -- Satan.
Soccer? -- God. Dodgeball? -- gotta be Satan.

...jump in anytime, folks....

You have it wrong. God is Creator of all things, Man is the preverter of God's perfect Creation.

Eve didn't have to listen to the serpent. Adam didn't have to listen to Eve. This is why we are no longer in Paradise unaffected by the afflictions you've mentioned. Chocolate is not necessarily good for you. And you can surely fall into the Grand Canyon chasing a butterfly. Cancer is a malady largely caused by environmental tampering (man's doing); plague basically comes from living under less than sanitary conditions, AIDS is propogated by sexual promiscuity (again, man's wanton behavior), hurricanes and famine are climatic events brought about by messing with Mother Nature.

So we gave up God's perfect environment for... Corvettes, Mustangs and T-birds? At price of gas these days we really did get the worse end of the deal. LOL!

Best.

Okay let me straighten out what you got crooked.
GOD MADE EVERYTHING!!
He is the Creator not the devil. The devil(Lucifer created by God) has control of the planet(the planet created by God) for a short time(time created by God) only. Satan rules the very air(created by God) we(we are created by God) breathe.
All viruses were created by God, warped by the devil to be sure but never the less. God created. Bats, Hurricanes, these are things God created for a good reason. The cancers and the plagues, the famines and the evil are all byproducts of the devil.
Satan cannot create. He can copy but not create! He is a very powerful entity and not to be tempted. He has the ability to warp what God has wrought.
We ourselves do that very well without the help of the devil thank-you very much, but that is not what we were created for. However Satan had other plans, did you read how easily he seduced us in the garden of Eden?
Well he is still doing that on a daily basis.

I've never heard anyone claim that Satan created anything. Most folks believe that God created all things and all things happen according to God's will. Satan is generally just characterized as a corruptor and a tempter. Now the obvious problem is that if God is all-powerful, created everything, and controls everything, then he made all the bad things happen as well as the good things. This means that God made Satan and Satan acts according to God's will.

I never liked that view of things. I view a kind but non-omnipotent God who created a world, then backed off to observe it. I tend to think of Him like a scientist conducting an experiment and not wanting to interfere with the outcome. But every now and then he just might adjust a variable or two in the experiment to affect the way things happen. It is just a theory. But hey, I'm a quasi-spiritual science geek, what do you expect?

God created everything. Including Satin. Man's freewill has caused most if not all the problems on the planet. We are only here for the purpose of deciding where we are going to spend eternity. Our time here is only a blink of the eye compared to all eternity. With that said most everything else really doesnt matter.

How do we know god didnt create the plague or aids? Hurricanes & famine?

Maybe they are his way of maintaining population control?

Most enviromentalists know, but refuse to admit publicly, the largest cause of polution is the overpopulation and consumption by those people. People are destroying their enviroment. Maybe god needs to kill them off to balance things back out....

Pretty simple........
God made the earth and nature and put man in charge.

Man in his wisdom created many mistakes......

and the Devil as far as I know can only create Chaos.
