For those of us who love our kids and would never do anything resembling this to them even if they seriously misbehaved, this is beyond belief. It is shocking and deeply disturbing even to those of us who are aware that we are living in the last days of this wicked system and things like this were foretold to occur. 2Timothy 3:1-5 elaborates on the type of personalities would be seen in our time. These people are indeed "fierce, without love of goodness" and have "no natural affection". I can't even imagine treating a stranger the way these people treated thier own child! And yet, we hear of more and more of these cases. Some, unfortunately do not come to light until the children have been killed by the abuse.
That is why God, in his mercy will wipe out this wicked system of things and establish a new world where "righteousness is to dwell" and where he will undo all the damage caused Satan and this wicked world.(Peter 3:13, Revelation 21:3)

Many of them don't want the responsibility that goes along with being a parent. If you look at children today, they seem to be old before their time. They are expected to make serious decisions that parents should be making.
Many are latchkey kids, left alone while the parents work or do God only knows what! These kids have to prepare their own meals, take charge of household duties and the like.
So, when we see negligent parents like the couple in Houston, we wonder why they EVER had children. Children are a lot of work......for a lifetime and with all the things that need to be done for them that the latchkeys are doing.....just might be too overwhelming for the "so-called" parents.
These parents probably didn't have a decent upbringing, along with a sense of responsibility either,, of course that does not excuse their behavior in the least.
You know that "our" hope is one day soon all of this foolishness will be a thing of the past, as Jehovah God issues in HIs new system of things where righteousness will surely dwell.

This type of situation lets us know we are deep into the Last Days, Those who have studied the Bible and have understanding of it are trying consistantly to let all people know, how deep we are into the "end of the system of things." Matthew 24:3; - 2Peter 3: 5-7- Mark 13:4. This time of the end precedes destruction. Matthew 24: 14, 34.] That this is not the end of the earth, but of this wicked system. 1 John 2:17. And that there is escape for those who choose to follow Jehovah's word, and commandments. 2 Peter 2:9; - Revelation 7: 14-17
At 2 Timothy 3: 1-7 we read of the attitudes of those who turn away from God and that because of these attitudes become deserving of Jehovah's wrath. [He is a God of Love, also a God of Justice and Wisdom and like a parent who loves his children he does not hold back punishment from those who disobey him]

Again, the signs of living in the Last Days. As a Christian parent & living my life according to God's Word, I would never think of doing such a thing.
These are critical times we are living in. If only people would live according to Jehovah's standards and words our lives would be so much happier. We have to hold onto His Word and turn our lives over to Him. Satan knows our weaknesses and will do everything he can to get us to do what is wrong.
I pray for the end to come.

What a sad, sad report.
It goes to show how perverted and sick some parents can be. I hope in prison, these two get what they deserve.
My heart goes out to the child, I wish I could wrap him up in my arms and take away all his pain. I wish I could wave a magic wand and make it all better for him. I wish I could do something for him.
I hope he can one day get over this trauma and become happy and content. It's going to be a struggle, but I hope he is strong.

So sad isn't it? You need a license to drive, a license to fish etc...,but no license to be a parent.
