depends on the man. each situation is different. also the wife may not take him back. the new woman may not let him go. both women might not want him. his wife may have replaced him with a new life or new man.

it could take a few months to a few years.
So, if I were the wife, I wouldn't just wait around for him to change his mind. If I loved him, I might fight for him, but if he had been horrible, then I'd just move on with my life and if he decides to come and I'm still available and still want him fine, if not, then, his loss!
