How do people define respect anymore? If you look at the world at large it seems there is a depressing lack of repect....

Self Respect.....(Have you seen Britney Spears' VMA performance?)

Repsect for other peoples' property/animals: (enter: Michael Vick)

Respect for one another: (I'll use rush hour traffic or ordering a meal from any fast food outlet as an example here)

So I gotta ask...is respect nothing more than a buzz word any more or does it mean something to you?

Repsect means something to me as I am sure it does to all as........
EVERYONE wants "respect" but it would seem very FEW want to give it.

I always thought if we were respectful we have earned the right to be respected.

It would seem that in the times of the fast paced. stressed out, days, attacking each other is the most common form of venting it off.

Wouldn't the world be a nicer place to venture out in if we could all go back to respect?

Respect is a consideration or thoughtfullness towards another or an admiration of them. Its something we should all express toward a fellow person, until we have it stripped from that particular relationship.

Respect to me is speaking without swearing, opening the car door so I can get in, Playing nice soothing music in the car not sports results. If A man is staying over I expect him to clean my guest bathroom after he has used it. Before any man comes to bed with me I expect him to shower and shave and smell exceptionally good at all times. I do not expect him to snore. I expect him to leave me a note saying what his plans are that day. I expect him to meet me from work and take me to a nice restaurant for dinner I do not mind paying for my own but I do not cook and do dishes for free. So if he wants to eat with me then this is the only option. If he does not want to eat with me this is fine as I will grab something at work in the middle of the day and grab a sandwich on my way home. But I would expect him to call to say if he was coming over or not. I work hard in the middle of the week. The weekend is my quality time and any man who wants to be with me should want to spend the weekend with me, shopping, eating out, going to the coast or another town and doing the theatre or concert at night. Anyman not up for any of this should not apply.

I believe that without respect for others, we will fall apart as a society.
The old saying,"treat others as you would like to be treated,"is a way I believe in living.

It means treating others as you would want to be treated, treating people with dignity, and humbling yourself before those who are older or have authority over you.

Yeah...it seems like people are too focused on their own bustling lives to think about anyone else and how they affect other peoples' days.
