if i were you i would make a little scrapbook of pictures of you and her together and in the front cover write a letter thanking her for everything and praising her. or you could write a song for her and play it for her at her birthday or something (you seem pretty good at that). she would really enjoy something like this more than anything storebought!!
:)

A lot depends on who you are making this for and what they would like. I have made jewelry, scrapbooks, home made candles, homemade soap, pictures from pressed flowers and leaves etc. Check out Martha Stewart on the web for some good ideas or go to your local Michaels or Ben Franklin and look at some of the projects in the store.

Go to your local craft store and look in the bead isle.

They make earring, bracelet, necklace and watch kits. They look awesome when finished and will cost you slightly under $10 to purchase. Crystal Innovations makes the best looking, most expensive looking ones and you can find them at Michaels or Provo Craft. The great thing about them is that they come with everything you need to put the item together.

Good luck!

try backed goods like bread or cookies(if diabetic substitute splenda 4 sugar) you could also try making a picture frame you can get inexpensive wood ones from a craft store and paint them and add all kinds of decore to them (especialy since elderly often have lots of photos) put it in a basket and cover with colored plastic wrap and make a name tag with gliter and const paper she'll love it. hope this helps.

Do you have a "Michaels" near you? That's the name of our major craft store. If you go there, you will come up with TONS of ideas just looking around.....it depends on who you are making something for. You can decorate and paint boxes for jewelry boxes.....there's a ton of ideas.

My mom and I make jewelry and sell it at craft shows a few times a year. It's fun and makes great gifts!

photo book, scrappbook technique maybe, or decorate an inexpensive photo frame,...depends on the person, i guess...hand made photo frames...you can make them very easily, made out of cardboard, scrap materials, leftover gift wrap, or a sheet of your favorite colored paper...get creative!!!
covering an old cigar box, is also a bit of a keepsake gift, you can really get creative....just like a frame u can use material or paper...best of luck to you, and happy birthday to the respected elder...

Well I don't know who it's for, but if it's for a parent, then make a cute card or something. If it's a friend, you could try making a necklace or something...
