My doctor told me she would only scrape my membranes if i was dialated.

That HURTS!! So freakin bad!! I was crying!! I'd wait to see if nautral labor would start on its own...I have learned my lesson!!

The doctor has to be able to get past your cervix into the edge of your uterus to scrape/sweep the membranes. If your doctor is not willing to do that unless you've started dilating, listen to your doc.
Your baby will come soon enough...we all get very anxious to get it over with at the end. And you don't have to be dilated at all to start labour...it'll come.

Why don't you just wait until the baby comes? I wasn't dialated AT ALL until I started labor.

Yes they can.
Dont let them give you pitocin, get cervidel instead, its more natural, and less risky.
