If you're driving, I would suggest going to Hurricane Mills, to Loretta Lynn's plantation. It's absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. VERY interesting trip - she also has a replica of her childhood home, coal mine, and museum. Even if you don't care for her music, it is a real treat to go and see this place. For all we saw in Nashville last summer, nothing compared to Hurricane Mills. You will be disappointed in Music Row!!!

I would suggest a walk along side streets and less flashy places. You are likely to hear the real music on a sidewalk somewhere from a girl or guy who hasn't made it yet but will soon.
