Yes. For instance, if I have to deal with an issue and the person I am speaking to is not the one that caused the problem, I apologize before I get started. I try to remain diplomatic, but I also realize that I might have some hostility in my voice and I don't want that person to feel it is directed towards them.

yes.
i apologized to my boss (i worked in a pub) who was sitting having a pint with my boyfriend who'd i'd had a row with the day before. i said i'm really sorry for what i'm about to do, then walked behind my fella, pulled him back by the back of his shirt, and tipped my ice cold drink down the back of his neck and walked out.
i had the last laugh still because the next day when i went into work my boss couldn't keep a straight face long enough to discipline me properly so i got off with a warning!
p.s that was 5 years ago, and i've since married my boyfriend xxx

I usually apologize prior to an evening of drinking. Before I put my nose down and do the biggest rail on the table and of course before I laugh hysterically at a small penis.

Yeah when I'm in a really really bad mood and I know anything and everything is going to set me off. I apologize to my friends and family in advance saying I'm in a horrible mood so please excuse anything I might say or do. :)

No but that's not a bad idea, perhaps I should start every Yahoo Answers session that way.
